With its indoor rainforest exhibits, interactive animal experiences, and commitment to conservation, Amazon World Zoo provides a fascinating and educational day out for visitors of all ages.

Key Features of Amazon World Zoo:

  1. Tropical Rainforest Experience - One of the highlights of Amazon World is its carefully designed indoor rainforest environment. As you enter, you are transported to a lush, tropical world filled with exotic plants, waterfalls, and animal enclosures that mimic natural habitats. The warmth, humidity, and vibrant greenery make it feel as though you are stepping into the Amazon itself.
  2. Wide Variety of Exotic Animals - The zoo is home to a diverse range of animals, including monkeys, sloths, anteaters, armadillos, and exotic birds such as parrots and toucans. Reptiles like snakes, lizards, and tortoises can also be seen, alongside amphibians, insects, and fish. Visitors can observe rare and unusual species up close, many of which are difficult to see in other zoos. The collection reflects the rich biodiversity of rainforests across the globe.
  3. Free-Roaming Animals - In certain parts of the zoo, animals are allowed to roam freely. Visitors may encounter tamarins swinging through the trees, colorful macaws flying overhead, and even tortoises wandering along the paths. This design allows for closer interactions with some of the zoo’s friendlier inhabitants, making the experience feel more natural and engaging.
  4. Conservation and Education - Amazon World Zoo has a strong focus on conservation and education. Through informative displays, talks, and interactive exhibits, visitors can learn about the importance of preserving rainforest habitats and the challenges faced by wildlife worldwide. The zoo supports various conservation projects and educates visitors on how they can contribute to protecting the planet’s biodiversity.
  5. Walkthrough Aviaries and Bird Exhibits - Bird enthusiasts will enjoy the large, walkthrough aviaries where vibrant parrots, toucans, and other exotic birds can be seen up close. The birds are often free to fly around, creating a colorful, lively environment. Visitors can watch them feed, preen, and interact, offering a rare glimpse into their natural behaviors.
  6. Reptile and Amphibian House - The zoo features a dedicated area for reptiles and amphibians, showcasing species like iguanas, pythons, frogs, and geckos. Visitors can learn about the unique adaptations of these creatures, from camouflage to venom, and how they play essential roles in their ecosystems. The exhibits are designed to be educational and often include interactive elements to enhance the learning experience.
  7. Meet the Animals Experiences - Amazon World offers various animal encounters, where visitors can get even closer to some of their favorite species. These experiences might include feeding the penguins, holding a snake, or learning about the care and feeding of tropical birds. "Keeper for a Day" programs allow participants to spend time working alongside the zookeepers, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how the animals are cared for.
  8. Cafe and Gift Shop - After a day of exploring, visitors can relax at the on-site cafe, which serves a range of meals, snacks, and drinks. There’s also a gift shop where you can find souvenirs, from plush animals and educational books to crafts and gifts inspired by the rainforest. Proceeds from sales help support the zoo’s conservation initiatives.

5 star stay at the island retreat. We enjoyed a weeks stay here and loved it. The caravan held more than the essential things, including a coffee machine, air fryer and TV. The oil heaters kept the caravan warm whilst we were out, so the caravan was always nice and cosy for us on return from days out. The caravan was clean and tidy and an easy check in and check out system. We also thought the welcome pack was a fab idea as we hadn’t yet done a food shop before we arrived so it was nice to have a hot brew after a long journey. There was so many things to do in the area in general but most importantly activities and walks were dog friendly so our gorgeous pup Ronnie enjoyed his holidays too. We could have definitely had another week here, we will be booking again.
