Dinosaur Isle
Dinosaur Isle is Britain’s first purpose-built dinosaur museum and visitor centre, located on Sandown’s seafront. The Isle of Wight is often called the “Dinosaur Capital of the UK” due to its wealth of fossil discoveries, and Dinosaur Isle showcases this prehistoric heritage.

The museum features life-sized dinosaur reconstructions, including moving models that roar and breathe, bringing the prehistoric world to life for children and adults alike. Exhibits include real fossils found on the island, interactive displays, and information about the dinosaurs that once roamed here. The building itself is shaped like a giant pterosaur, making it a landmark in its own right.

Guided fossil walks on nearby beaches are available, offering visitors the chance to find their own fossils with the help of experts. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and educational activities, making it a great destination for families and schools.
