Ferry costs are an important part of planning an Isle of Wight holiday. The council’s transport announcement of 26 March 2026 explains how affordability fits into its approved Island Transport Plan.

What has been approved?

The plan entered its 15-year implementation phase following approval. Its sustainable tourism commitments include working with ferry operators towards better pricing options for walking and cycling holidays.

This is a policy commitment. The announcement does not establish a new fixed visitor fare or confirm a particular discount has been introduced.

What visitors should check

Compare live operator quotes for your route, dates and passenger or vehicle requirements. Check conditions before booking. Do not assume a policy announcement changes the price of your crossing.

Booking accommodation directly with Isle of Wight Stays means ferry discount links are automatically sent by email.

Read the council’s dated announcement. Check Wightlink, Red Funnel or Hovertravel for your journey.

Plan your accommodation and check live availability.
