Walk the Wight is the Isle of Wight’s largest annual charity walk, bringing thousands of people together to cross the island while raising funds for local care services.
Participants walk across the island from east to west, usually starting at Bembridge and finishing at Alum Bay. The full route covers around 26.5 miles, with shorter distances available for families and casual walkers.
The event supports the work of Mountbatten Isle of Wight, helping fund hospice care, community nursing, and end-of-life support for island residents.
Walkers take part at their own pace. Some complete the full crossing, others join midway routes or family-friendly sections. Along the route you find refreshment stops, live music, and strong community support.
