A steam train and a visit to Father Christmas could make a lovely centrepiece for a December island holiday. The Isle of Wight Steam Railway has listed its 2026 Santa Specials, giving families time to organise accommodation and travel.
Dates to plan around
The railway lists Santa Specials on 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 December 2026 at Havenstreet. Check your chosen date, departure time and ticket availability with the organiser before making other bookings.
What the railway describes
The official event page describes a steam train journey, festive activities and a visit to Father Christmas in a carriage grotto at the Train Story Discovery Centre. It also lists a carousel, Miniature Winter Wonderland and seasonal entertainment.
Ticket options and inclusions vary. Read the organiser’s current booking details, including infant tickets and accessibility arrangements, before purchasing. The event page states that tickets are non-refundable. No ticket availability or price is guaranteed by this article.
